𝐘𝐄𝐏𝐬 „𝐁𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬“ What is the YEPs’ purpose? How do we work together as a network? And what matters to us? We talked a lot about these topics at our last meeting in January. Here’s what we will focus on in 2024: 1️⃣ 𝐍𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 We want to share the latest trends in the energy sector, focus on women's empowerment and to get to know each other and our expertise. We have different formats to ensure a constant connection. 🎰 Lunch Lottery: YEPs meet in person or digitally one-on-one. 👩 Women in Energy: We strive for more female representation in the energy sector. 🙂 Facetime: Introduce yourself! We want to get to know each other better on a professional and personal level. 2️⃣ 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐞𝐬 Something new happens in the energy sector every day, so it's valuable to have a constant exchange from across all fields: 💧 H2: Hydrogen is a trend topic we have to keep an eye on. 🍲 Policy Lunch: In this space, we discuss the latest decisions, trends, regulations at a national and international level. 🗺 Excursions: We meet in person at one of our members’ sites to learn more about energy infrastructure or meet with the organisation’s experts. 3️⃣ 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐞𝐫 Information is key, and we are happy to share our expertise with others to support the energy transition. 👩👦 Mentoring: We believe in the importance of helping others build a career in the energy sector. 🎧 Podcast: We invite and interview experts to learn more about their exciting work in the energy transition process. 👩🎓 University: We cooperate with universities to ensure knowledge transfer. 🎮 Energy Game: By using gamification, we explain energy to a wider audience, thus making its complex topics more accessible. We have many more ideas, some in the early stages of implementation, others for the future. 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐆𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐚𝐭 𝐄-𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 & 𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 2024 – 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐩! Three exciting days at E-world energy & water lie behind us. Once again, the traditional meeting 🙌 of the World Energy Council - Germany with active and former YEPs took place at the trade fair. The YEPs took an active part 🏃♀️ in the events organised by the World Energy Council - Germany: Our colleague Katia Schubert moderated 🎤 the start-up panel "𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝑵𝒆𝒕-𝒁𝒆𝒓𝒐 𝒑𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒘𝒂𝒚𝒔 𝒊𝒏 𝒂 𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒃𝒖𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒈𝒍𝒐𝒃𝒂𝒍 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒙𝒕" on Wednesday. And on Thursday, we recorded our first ever live session of the Young Energy Podcast. Podcast host Marlen Sunnyi Bohne spoke 💬 with Luis-Martín Krämer (e-regio GmbH & Co. KG) and Milan Niehaus (Westnetz GmbH) about national opportunities ⭐and challenges 🎢 in the municipal heat transition and the German distribution grid. The episodes will soon be available on our Spotify account. We would like to take this opportunity to thank 🙏 our guests and, of course, Kirsten Baumgartner and her colleagues from conenergy agentur GmbH for making the recording possible. 💡 The YEPs are the youth organisation of the World Energy Council - Germany. They are a network of almost 70 young, committed professionals from across the energy sector. 𝐈𝐭’𝐬 𝐓𝐞𝐚 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞 ☕ : 𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐧 On 30 January, our YEP mentors met with the mentees from CIFE’s Master’s program in Global Energy Transition and Governance. During tea time, the mentees and mentors got to know each other in person and shared some personal reflections about the energy transition and career opportunities. The mentoring program is a lighthouse project of the Young Energy Professionals Germany and is offered throughout the entire study period of the CIFE students. Our YEP colleague Lukas Bieber is the founder of the cooperation between the Centre international de formation européenne and the World Energy Council - Germany in charge of the program.   #yep #mentoring #berlin

💡 📝 𝐘𝐄𝐏-𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐲 𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐧    Networking, exchanging ideas and getting to know a TSO: On 28th and 29th of January the YEPs had their strategy meeting in Berlin.   With nearly 30 YEPs we discussed 💬 how to further develop the network and its activities. This meant putting everything to the test: our cooperations and communication, the activities we organise as well as how we manage our alumni network. For our newest members, it was their first chance to get to know the others in person 👥. The best networking opportunity? Spending the evening eating pizza 🍕 and pasta 🍝 in Berlin’s iconic Prenzlauer Berg district.   On the second day, we got a glimpse into the key activities of 50Hertz Transmission GmbH, one of Germany’s four transmission system operators (TSO). They are planning, building, operating (keeping the lights on 24/7) and maintaining the extra-high voltage grid in the eastern part of Germany and the city of Hamburg. The TSO’s experts discussed their offshore activities with us and gave us an insight into their changing asset management. We also learned a lot about 50Hertz’s approach to digitalisation and innovation.   A big thank you 🙏 to everyone involved in organising the meeting, especially to 50Hertz Transmission GmbH and our YEP member Arya Fazilat for hosting an exciting excursion.   Want to find out more about what we do?
